Skretting has always been developing innovative products and concepts, which over time evolved into production standards such as THREE PERIOD, AminoBalance™, LipoBalance and SeasonFit. The R&D activities carried out at the Aquaculture Research Centre in cooperation with the technicians from the different Skretting Operative Companies result in a continuous update of our product portfolio.
Fish farmers have to cope with different circumstances such as environment, management, genetics, pathogens occurence etc. All these issues vary widely from one farmer to another, which results in different requirements. To get optimum results we feel it is necessary to stay in close contact with farms.
The feeding program of Skretting NW-Europe contains feed for all kinds of fish such as catfish, trout, eel, sturgeon and carp but also for barramundi, turbot, pike perch, tilapia and high quality feed for tropical fish, from larvae to adult stage. The production of our feeds is in hands of our sister companies. The major part is produced at Skretting France, some limited dedicated products are produced in the factories of Skretting Italy and Skretting Spain. Skretting products ensure high quality and safety levels through the Nutrace system.
Nutreco Aquaculture has had a long history in developing diets that not only fully meet nutritional requirements but also counteract the effects of stress on fish. In the early 1990s, Nutreco was the first aquafeed company to introduce into specialist feeds yeast cell wall extracts (containing beta-glucans) which have been proven to stimulate the immune system of fish and aid in disease resistance. Since that time various improvements and innovations have been made in the area of beta-glucans and other health promoting ingredients.
PROTEC is the new evolution of our anti-stress diet. Protec contains ingredients which act in synergy to fight the negative effects of stress in fish (handling, transport, disease etc.) and to support their immune system. Protec thus contains beta-glucans and a high dose of vitamin C which anti-stress action has largely been proved.
